RESURRECTION 2020
The Skip Gershwin Trilogy
A postmodern satiric time travel thriller chock full of unexpected twists and turns. At times humorous, at times gritty, this new sci-fi / fantasy novel tackles subjects as diverse as the nature of consciousness, the stain of racial discrimination in America, the Hindu belief in reincarnation, and the psychopathic impulses of one particularly twisted American political leader.
In this part of the Skip Gershwin Trilogy, four brilliant yet unlikely friends—a
down-and-out English teacher, an African American college student, an aspiring reporter,
and a cognitive scientist—venture back to the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair, a veritable
explosion of pop culture and corporate excess and the largest fair ever held in the US.
On their time machine-powered adventure, they encounter a bizarre array of narcissists,
bigots, charlatans, and haters of every conceivable type. The time travelers must grapple
with the questions Can history really be changed? and What do we do if we can’t change it?
Not a simple time travel / time paradox novel, this grownup science fiction tour de force
is for people who think about where America is today and whether the USA has really made any
significant social progress since the 1960s.
RESURRECTION 2020 will shed new light on America’s past sins and present transgressions.
It explores consciousness, sexual identity, corporate greed, racism, violence, and
authoritarianism.
